Crete and Milos by private plane – JW Marriott Chania and Eréma Hotel

Eight days, two islands, and between them a flight across the Aegean you can fly yourself.

Four nights at the JW Marriott on the Akrotiri peninsula near Chania, four nights at the Eréma on Milos, a hotel whose name means "place of quiet" and which gives every suite its own pool. The two are connected not by ferry but by a Piper PA-28 Turbo Arrow: an hour low over the Cyclades, with sightseeing along the way. If you hold a licence, you fly it yourself; if not, you sit beside a professional pilot.

A journey in chapters

Airbus A320 von Aegean Airlines im Flug über der Ägäis
DAY 1

Flight to Chania and arrival in Marathi

Business class scheduled flight with Aegean Airlines from Germany to Chania, or by private jet. Transfer to the JW Marriott Hotel & Spa Crete in Marathi, 9 km and about 15 minutes. Welcome drink and a calm arrival.

Panoramapool des JW Marriott über dem Meer
DAY 2

Four pools and a private beach

Unwind and let the day drift. There are four panoramic pools: main pool, adults-only pool, children's pool and indoor pool, plus a private beach with direct access to the sea. Lie on Balinese beds among the rock formations, take the wooden walkways down to the snorkelling grounds.

Pool im Anoseas Spa des JW Marriott
DAY 3

Anoseas Spa or sunrise yoga

The Anoseas Spa has five treatment rooms, a couple's suite, steam bath, KLAFS sauna and a beauty room. Olive oil treatments, holistic massages following old Cretan rituals and hydrotherapy are the signatures; there is also the Linovrochi cave, a meditative space with healing water. For a more active day: sunrise yoga on the wooden deck above the sea, HIIT, TRX or a workout in the gym.

Restaurant direkt am Meer auf Kreta
DAY 4

Marathi, Chania and the Venetian harbour

Explore the beach at Marathi and have lunch in one of its three tavernas. Our recommendation is Taverne Patrelantonis, and we are happy to reserve a table in advance. Alternatively, a trip into Chania: the old town, a walk along the Venetian harbour, and the market hall built in 1913, recently reopened after a long renovation.

Piper PA-28 Turbo Arrow vor dem Abflug nach Milos
DAY 5

By private plane across the Aegean to Milos

Transfer to Chania airport, then on to Milos by private plane, a Piper PA-28 Turbo Arrow, around 60 minutes with sightseeing along the way. The colours of the Aegean seen from the air. If you hold a pilot's licence you can fly this leg yourself; otherwise an experienced professional pilot takes the controls. After landing, transfer to the Eréma, 7 km and about 12 minutes, welcome drink and a calm arrival.

Bucht an der Küste von Milos
DAY 6

Quiet at your own pool or on a beach

Eréma means quiet in Greek, and that is exactly what your own pool is for. If you want to head out: Provatas is known for golden sand and calm, shallow water, and Kípoi Beach is nearby too. Or simply a few lengths in the large hotel pool.

Elios Spa im Eréma Hotel auf Milos
DAY 7

Elios Spa, a gym with sea views, or the island

A wellness day at the Elios Spa with a massage. Alternatively a session in the gym facing the sea, or yoga on the shaded open-air platform. The day works just as well for exploring more of the island or taking a boat trip.

Aegean Airlines Business Class Lounge am Flughafen Athen
DAY 8

Return flight via Athens

Transfer to Milos airport, around 7 km and 12 minutes, then the return flight with Aegean Airlines via Athens to your home airport, about 5.5 hours with the connection. The Aegean Business Class Lounge is open to you during the stop in Athens. Alternatively, straight back to Germany by private jet.

THE HOUSES

Where you stay

The terraced JW Marriott resort above the coast at Marathi

Marathi, Chania – Crete

JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa

Setting

The resort lies on the east coast of the Akrotiri peninsula near Marathi, directly on the sea. Chania airport is about 9 km or 15 minutes away, Souda harbour around 17 km, and the Venetian old town of Chania roughly 30 minutes by car. Marathi itself is a quiet coastal village with a fine sandy beach and three tavernas, considerably more relaxed than the hotel zones west of the city.

Grounds & architecture

The resort covers around 100 hectares of coastline and comprises 160 rooms, suites and villas with sea views. The architecture is restrained: low, honeycomb-arranged buildings of stone, concrete and wood, terraced into the hillside, which keeps the resort intimate despite its size. Many categories have a private pool and generous terraces. The house opened in June 2025 and is among the newest luxury resorts in western Crete.

Dining

Five culinary concepts: Ōnalos as a fish restaurant right on the beach, Anöee serving Cretan cuisine over open fire with foraged ingredients, Cuccagna as an Italian trattoria by the pool, Fayi with Mediterranean sharing plates, plus the Suncti pool bar and the all-day bar Eéxis with cocktails made from Cretan herbs. The resort's own JW Garden supplies herbs for kitchen and bar, and the JW Market offers local produce, wines and cold-pressed juices.

Spa & activities

The Anoseas Spa has five treatment rooms, a couple's suite, steam bath, KLAFS sauna, beauty room, indoor vitality pool and a yoga deck above the sea. The fitness and mobility studio offers Technogym equipment, sunrise yoga, TRX, HIIT, guided hikes and a parkour trail. There are three outdoor pools, an indoor pool and a private beach with snorkelling grounds. We are happy to arrange excursions to Balos and Gramvousa by boat, the Samaria Gorge or Elafonisi.

The Eréma Hotel above Cape Chalaka on Milos

Cape Chalaka, Milos

Eréma Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels

Setting

The hotel stands on the quiet south-east coast of Milos, on a cliff above Cape Chalaka. Milos airport is 7 km away, the ferry port of Adamas 11 km. The well-known beach of Provatas, with its golden sand and calm, shallow water, is close by, and Kípoi Beach only a few minutes further.

Grounds & architecture

Opened in June 2026 as the Empiria Group's first house on Milos and a member of Design Hotels. Forty-one suites, each with a private pool and an open view of the Aegean. The design by the Athens studio ID Laboratorium under Stamos Hondrodimos answers the island's mineral-rich volcanic landscape with stone, marble and muted earth tones rather than competing with it; generous openings connect interior and exterior with the horizon. Terraces and planted zones continue the island's terraced topography. The property is LEED Gold certified. The name means, roughly, "place of quiet".

Dining

Two restaurants under culinary director Yiannis Kioroglou, who interprets Mediterranean and Greek traditions in his "Medite-Grecian" philosophy: seasonality, simplicity and a strong sense of place come first. There are also two bars and lounges. Breakfast is available à la carte as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free; there are outdoor areas and a pool bar.

Spa & sport

The Elios Spa, named after the Greek word for sun, has three treatment rooms and a heated outdoor pool. The menu includes massage journeys, facials and body rituals with products by Swissline by Dermalab, among them a deep tissue massage with local rosemary and ginger oil and a wrap of Dead Sea mud and volcanic minerals. The signature treatment is "Eréma Earth and Light", 120 minutes using gua sha technique. The fitness centre faces the sea, a shaded open-air platform serves for yoga, and a linear basin forms the centre of the wellness area. There is also a large infinity pool.

How do I check in online for my flight?

Can I add a Rail&Fly ticket?

For trips with a scheduled flight, this is possible, usually for an additional charge, unless the airline already includes it.

How much luggage am I allowed to bring?

This varies by airline and fare. We'll let you know the exact free baggage allowance along with your trip offer.

What happens if flight times change?

We inform you immediately by email as soon as we're notified of a change.

PAYMENT & PROTECTION

How much is the deposit?

As a rule, the deposit is 20% of the trip price. For peak-season dates it may be higher; this will be stated in the respective offer. For non-refundable special-fare flight tickets, the deposit may also be higher, as the ticket must be paid in full immediately.

Send us a copy of your pilot's license. We'll then support you with the license revalidation and inform you about all the documents required for it.

Can we bring our children?

We're happy to book child-friendly hotels suited to your trip with children.

I'm pregnant — can I still travel?

In principle, traveling is possible with an uncomplicated pregnancy up to week 34/35; the second trimester (weeks 14 to 28) is considered ideal. The exact rules vary by airline: many require a medical certificate of fitness to fly from week 28 onward, and most airlines decline to carry passengers from week 36 onward. Feel free to reach out — we'll check individually for your airline and route how your desired trip can be arranged.

Yes. We're available around the clock and here for you should anything not go according to plan during your trip.
