Villa Rio Chico in Jamaica: a private estate above the Caribbean

An entire estate to yourselves, with two private beaches, several pools and a team looking after you around the clock.

Villa Rio Chico sits near Ocho Rios on Jamaica's north coast, a fourteen-hectare estate right on the sea. Twelve air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms are spread across the main house and several guest houses, with room for up to 24 people. The estate is only ever let as a whole, so you share it with no one. A team of chef, butler, house manager, housekeepers, barman and gardeners is there around the clock. We fly you to Montego Bay in business class and take you on to the coast from there, by helicopter in a quarter of an hour if you prefer.

DAY 1

Flight to Jamaica

Business class scheduled flight with Condor from Germany to Montego Bay, around eleven hours. After landing, the transfer takes you to the north coast and Villa Rio Chico in about an hour and a half. If you would rather shorten the journey, you fly the leg by helicopter in around fifteen minutes. The house team welcomes you at the gate.

DAY 2

Your days at the estate

Seven days that belong to you, with no fixed programme. Two private sandy beaches on a sheltered shore, several pools including a main pool with an infinity section above the cliff, a pool right on the beach and a natural waterfall pool. Around them a tropical garden with streams, bridges, ponds and statues. If you want to be active there is a tennis court, a basketball court and a gym, along with kayaks, snorkelling gear, windsurf boards and a sailing boat. The kitchen cooks to your wishes, and you set the tone.

DAY 9

Flight home

Transfer to Montego Bay airport, about an hour and a half, or again by helicopter in a quarter of an hour. Return flight with Condor in business class, around ten hours overnight. You land in Germany the following morning.

Villa Rio Chico

Location

Fourteen hectares directly on the sea, near Ocho Rios on the north coast. Two private white sand beaches on a sheltered shore belong to the estate. From Montego Bay airport it is around an hour and a half by car, or fifteen minutes by helicopter.

The house

Twelve air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms across the main house and several guest houses, with twelve and a half bathrooms with large tubs and walk-in showers. There is room for up to 24 people, and the estate is only let as a whole.

Things to do

Several pools, including a main pool with an infinity section above the cliff, a pool on the beach and a natural waterfall pool. Tennis court, half basketball court and gym, plus kayaks, snorkelling gear, windsurfing and sailing. For quieter days there is croquet, darts and a tropical garden with streams, bridges and ponds.

Service

A dedicated team looks after you around the clock: chef, butler, house manager, housekeepers, barman and gardeners. We arrange catering and activities to your wishes in advance, and green fees at the nearby golf course can be added.

ENTRY & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

German citizens do not need a visa for a tourist stay of up to 90 days in Jamaica. What is mandatory is the free online entry form (C5 card) and the digital immigration and customs declaration via the official PICA website. The passport must be valid for at least six months on entry; an identity card is not accepted. A return or onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds are also required. We are happy to handle the registration for you and will send the details in good time before departure.

For trips with a scheduled flight, you can usually check in via the airline's website or app. On request, we can handle online check-in for you and send your boarding pass via WhatsApp — where this is technically possible for the respective airline and route.

Can I add a Rail&Fly ticket?

For trips with a scheduled flight, this is possible, usually for an additional charge, unless the airline already includes it.

How much luggage am I allowed to bring?

This varies by airline and fare. We'll let you know the exact free baggage allowance along with your trip offer.

What happens if flight times change?

We inform you immediately by email as soon as we're notified of a change.

PAYMENT & PROTECTION

How much is the deposit?

As a rule, the deposit is 20% of the trip price. For peak-season dates it may be higher; this will be stated in the respective offer. For non-refundable special-fare flight tickets, the deposit may also be higher, as the ticket must be paid in full immediately.

When is the balance due?

As a rule, 30 days before departure. We'll point out any deviations already at the time of booking.

How do I pay for my trip?

Payment is conveniently made by bank transfer.

Is my trip protected by a tour operator insolvency insurance (ATOL licence)?

Yes. As a German tour operator we are legally obliged to protect your trip with a tour operator insolvency insurance (ATOL licence). Fly Unique has a contract with the R+V Versicherung. You will receive your insurance certificate automatically with your booking confirmation.

Do you recommend a travel cancellation insurance?

We generally recommend travel cancellation insurance and are happy to advise you on suitable options.

Are rebookings or cancellations possible?

When will I receive my travel documents?

You'll receive your booking confirmation immediately after booking, and the complete travel documents no later than two weeks before departure.

What travel documents do I need?

This varies depending on the destination and nationality. We provide comprehensive information on the required documents and, if needed, also assist with obtaining visas.

FOR PILOTS

I'd like to fly myself — what do I need?

Send us a copy of your pilot's license. We'll then support you with the license revalidation and inform you about all the documents required for it.

Which aircraft is right for my trip?

We're happy to advise you on the choice — whether for flying yourself, joining as a passenger, or a trip by private plane or private jet.

Do you assist with route planning and permits for pilot trips?

Yes, we're happy to handle route planning and support you with any permits that may be required.

FAMILY & SPECIAL REQUESTS

Can allergies or dietary preferences be reported in advance?

Yes. We're happy to pass on your allergies and dietary preferences to the airline and hotel in advance.

Can we bring our children?

I'm pregnant — can I still travel?

In principle, traveling is possible with an uncomplicated pregnancy up to week 34/35; the second trimester (weeks 14 to 28) is considered ideal. The exact rules vary by airline: many require a medical certificate of fitness to fly from week 28 onward, and most airlines decline to carry passengers from week 36 onward. Feel free to reach out — we'll check individually for your airline and route how your desired trip can be arranged.
