Klipspringer above the Fish River Canyon in southern Namibia
Namibia12 days

Namibia from south to north: Fish River Canyon, Namib, Etosha and the Caprivi

Twelve days across Namibia, from Africa's greatest canyon to the river in the Caprivi. Between stages you fly rather than drive.

A 12-day trip to Namibia by Linienflug Business Class. Accommodation: Canyon Lodge, Namib Dune Star Camp, Desert Whisper, Etosha King Nehale and Namushasha River Villa. From on request (Price on request, including business class flights from Germany).

Namibia is vast, and its finest places lie far apart. Cover those distances on gravel roads and you spend days in a car. We put you in an aircraft instead: from the Fish River Canyon in the deep south over the dunes of the Namib and the waterholes of Etosha to the Kwando in the Caprivi, where Namibia turns green. Five Gondwana Collection houses, each in a different landscape, with short flights instead of long drives in between.

ITINERARY

A journey in chapters

Airbus A330 von Discover Airlines über den Wolken
DAY 1

Flight to Windhoek

Business class scheduled flight from Germany to Windhoek. The flight is overnight, so you sleep on board.

Fahrt durch die weite Ebene im Süden Namibias
DAY 2

Arrival and on to the south

After landing in Windhoek you fly straight on south to the Fish River Canyon. In the afternoon you reach Canyon Lodge, a house of natural stone set among granite domes. The rest of the day is for arriving.

Sundowner am Rand des Fish River Canyon
DAY 3

The second largest canyon in the world

The Fish River Canyon runs for 160 kilometres and drops 550 metres in places. In the morning you drive to the rim and stand before a gorge no photograph captures. With luck you will see klipspringer on the rocks. At sunset the bar is driven out to the edge.

Zu Fuß durch die Dünen zu den Hütten des Camps
DAY 4

On to the Namib

A flight north into the oldest desert on earth. Namib Dune Star Camp sits on a slope above the plain, each hut standing on its own. In the afternoon you walk among the dunes.

Düne der Namib im Morgenlicht
DAY 5

A night under the open sky

Here the bed rolls out onto the deck. You sleep under a sky with no artificial light anywhere, and the sun over the dunes wakes you. By day, drives into the plain, or nothing at all.

Fahrt über die Sandpiste zum Haus in der Wüste
DAY 6

Desert Whisper

A night in a single house in the middle of the desert, no neighbours, your own staff and a view in every direction. The way there runs over sand tracks, and after that you are alone.

Pirschfahrt durch hohes Gras
DAY 7

Flight to Etosha

From the desert to the north. Etosha King Nehale lies on the northern edge of the park, right at the King Nehale gate. In the afternoon, your first game drive into the park.

Elefant unmittelbar vor dem Beobachtungsstand
DAY 8

The hide at the waterhole

The house has a hide right at the water, half sunk into the ground. You sit at eye level with the waterhole, and when a herd of elephants comes down to drink they stand a few metres in front of you. This is what most guests come back for.

Elefantenherde am Wasserloch im Etosha
DAY 9

A day in Etosha

A full day in the park and its waterholes. Alongside elephants, your chances are good for rhino, lion, giraffe, zebra and oryx. Back in the evening, when the light over the pan turns soft.

Bootsfahrt auf dem Kwando im Caprivi
DAY 10

Into the Caprivi

The longest flight of the trip, right across to the northeast. Namibia is suddenly green here: the Kwando carries water year-round, and Namushasha River Villa stands directly above the river. A private house with chef and guide, yours alone.

Elefant vor dem Safarifahrzeug im Caprivi
DAY 11

River, elephants and the last evening

On the boat in the morning, in the vehicle in the afternoon. The Caprivi has the highest density of elephants in the country, along with hippo, crocodile and over four hundred bird species. In the evening you fly back to Windhoek and on to Germany.

Business-Class-Sitz im Schlafmodus
DAY 12

Arrival in Germany

You land in Germany in the morning.

Namib-Naukluft, at the edge of the dunes

Namib Dune Star Camp

The house

Things to do

A night under the open sky with no artificial light, walks among the dunes and drives into the plain.

Namib, alone in the desert

ENTRY & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

German citizens require a visa for Namibia, either applied for online in advance as an eVisa or on arrival at the airport. The passport must be valid for at least six months after entry and have at least six blank pages. A confirmed return or onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds are also required. No vaccinations are compulsory when entering directly from Germany. Limited baggage allowances apply on the flights between stages. Hard-shell cases do not fit on board, so travel with soft bags without a frame. We confirm the exact weight limits at the time of booking.

Can I book a VIP lounge with direct access to the aircraft?

Yes. We book you a VIP lounge from which you're escorted directly to the aircraft, relaxed and without waiting.

How do I check in online for my flight?

Can I add a Rail&Fly ticket?

For trips with a scheduled flight, this is possible, usually for an additional charge, unless the airline already includes it.

How much luggage am I allowed to bring?

This varies by airline and fare. We'll let you know the exact free baggage allowance along with your trip offer.

What happens if flight times change?

We inform you immediately by email as soon as we're notified of a change.

PAYMENT & PROTECTION

How much is the deposit?

As a rule, the deposit is 20% of the trip price. For peak-season dates it may be higher; this will be stated in the respective offer. For non-refundable special-fare flight tickets, the deposit may also be higher, as the ticket must be paid in full immediately.

Can we bring our children?

I'm pregnant — can I still travel?

In principle, traveling is possible with an uncomplicated pregnancy up to week 34/35; the second trimester (weeks 14 to 28) is considered ideal. The exact rules vary by airline: many require a medical certificate of fitness to fly from week 28 onward, and most airlines decline to carry passengers from week 36 onward. Feel free to reach out — we'll check individually for your airline and route how your desired trip can be arranged.
